COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
1) By entering into the Heineken Slot Car competition (“Competition”), you confirm that you accept these competition terms and conditions. All details and instructions (including ‘how to participate instructions’ and prize information and Participation Agreements) form part of the terms and conditions of the Competition.
2) The Promoter is DB Breweries Limited, acting through the Heineken brand (“Promoter” or “Heineken”), DX Mail EX10906, 1 Bairds Road, Otahuhu, Auckland. The Promoter can be contacted on 0800 102 337 free of charge from landlines within New Zealand.
3) To participate in and/or claim a prize in the Competition, you must be a New Zealand resident aged 18 years or over.
4) The Promoter’s and its associated companies’ employees, agencies and contractors, or anyone else professionally involved in the Competition, and their immediate families (including spouses, grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren) are not eligible to participate in the Competition.
5) The promotional period for the Competition is July 1st – August 30th 2017.
To Enter
6) To enter, register your details with a Heineken brand ambassador at a participating Heineken outlet hosting the Competition. Entry is only available on the dates and times that the Competition is open for entry at a participating Heineken outlet. See www.morethanarace.co.nz for Heineken outlet Competition dates/times and participating Heineken outlets.
7) Entrants will receive an entry “chit” from a Heineken brand ambassador which can be exchanged for one race. Entrants will be summoned to race during the evening of entry.
8) Once registered and entered into the Competition, an entrant may gain an additional entry chit with each qualifying purchase of a Heineken product at the participating Heineken outlet. Entry chits can only be redeemed at the participating Heineken outlet from which they were received, and only during the time that the Competition is open for entry at that Heineken outlet.
9) Race rules:
a) One race per chit.
a) Each race consists of 5 laps.
c) A maximum of 2 people can compete in a race at any one time.
d) Race/lap times are recorded electronically. The Heineken brand ambassadors will record all race/lap times. Racer’s race/lap times may be added to the Competition leaderboard.
e) As race officials, the Heineken brand ambassadors shall have full discretion in relation to all aspects of the Competition, including the ability to:
· suspend, restart or cancel any race if they consider that any racer has gained an illegitimate or unfair advantage;
· amend, adjust or cancel any racer’s race/lap time if they consider that any racer has gained an illegitimate or unfair advantage;
· suspend, restart or cancel any race if they consider that there is any issue with the race timing system; and
· amend, adjust or cancel any racer’s race/lap time if they consider that there is any issue with the race timing system.
f) Any decision of a Heineken brand ambassador is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
g) If a slot car comes off the track during a race, the racer or the Heineken brand ambassador may place the car back on the track at the point at which the slot car came off the track and continue the race.
Prize
10) The winner of the Competition will be the person with the fastest lap time in the Competition as recorded on the leaderboard in Heineken’s sole discretion. In the event that the fastest lap time is held by more than one racer, the winner of the prize will be chosen at random from those racers with the equal fastest recorded lap time.
11) The winner will be announced on 8 September 2017.
12) The winner of the prize wins return economy class flights for two to Singapore to attend the Formula One Grand Prix.
13) The prize also includes:
a) entry to the Heineken Paddock Club at the Singapore Grand Prix;
b) 4-star accommodation for 4 nights in Singapore; and
c) all airport and airline taxes, and airport transfers to and from the designated hotel in Singapore.
14) The prize must be taken between 14th and 18th September 2017. If you cannot travel on these dates you immediately forfeit the prize and a new winner (being the fastest lap time as recorded on the leaderboard in Heineken’s sole discretion (or pursuant to clause 10 is applicable)) will become the winner of the prize.
15) All costs not listed, including (but not limited to) costs for meals, travel/medical insurance, travel documentation, getting to and from a valid departure city and all other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the winner and their travelling companion.
16) Once a winner has been confirmed, they and their travelling companion will need to complete a participation agreement. The prize winner’s travelling companion must comply with the Promotion terms and conditions.
17) All return flights will depart from and return to Auckland, Christchurch or Wellington (as applicable) only. The winner and travelling companion must make their own arrangements to get to and from valid departure points if required.
18) The prize winner and traveling companion must follow all instructions given by Heineken on how to claim and participate in the prize. Proof of age may be required.
19) The prize winner and travel companion must travel together at all times. The dates for travel are subject to availability of both the flights and accommodation.
20) The prize winner and travel companion are responsible for ensuring their availability during the Promotion travel period and for obtaining at their own expense a valid passport and, if applicable, any visa required for travel. The Prize winner and travel companion are also responsible for, and Heineken strongly recommends, obtaining adequate travel insurance at their own expense.
21) Heineken will not be held responsible or liable in any way if the prize winner or travel companion are denied entry into the destination country or encounter any visa issues on route.
22) Heineken cannot guarantee that the trip will be free from disruptions, failings or cancellations. Heineken is not liable for such disruptions, failings or cancellations.
General Competition Terms
23) The Promoter will endeavour to ensure that all relevant means of entry into the Competition are available at all times during the promotional period, but cannot guarantee availability and is not liable for any disruptions or system failure. The Promoter reserves the right to suspend or cease any means of entry into the Competition at its sole discretion.
24) Unless otherwise stated in any specific terms and conditions, the Promoter can accept multiply competitions entries as long as this complies with all other rules.
25) Incomplete or illegible entries or those not submitted in accordance with the entry instructions will not be accepted. The Promoter has no responsibility, and will not be liable, for any lost, incorrect, or misdirected entries, or any entries not received by the Promoter.
26) In the event of a dispute the Promoter’s decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
27) The Promoter reserves the right at any time to suspend or modify the Competition, or these terms & conditions, without prior notice and for any reason whatsoever at its discretion.
28) The Promoter may refuse to award a prize to any participant if, in the Promoter’s sole opinion, that participant has violated the specific and/or general terms and conditions of the Competition or has gained an unfair advantage in participating in the Competition.
29) By entering a prize draw online, you consent to the Promoter contacting you at any of the contact details provided at the time of entry.
30) The prize winner will be notified as soon as reasonably practicable following any draw or award. The Promoter reserves the right to redraw or reallocate any prize if a winner cannot be contacted within a reasonable period, as determined by the Promoter at its sole discretion.
31) Prize winners and their companions may each be required to sign a Participation Agreement in order to take a prize.
32) Prizes are as stipulated and are non-transferable and non-refundable. In the event that the prize specified in the Competition is not available for any reason, the Promoter may substitute the prize for another prize of like value. The Promoter will not be responsible for the cancellation or postponement of any prize.
33) By participating in the Competition, participants consent to the use of their name and photograph for any promotional purposes carried out by the Promoter. Prize winners may be required to take part in any publicity accompanying or resulting from the Competition. Unless otherwise specified by the Promoter, no additional compensation will be provided by the Promoter for such participation.
34) Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever incurred by any participant (including but not limited to any indirect or consequential loss). All prizes are taken entirely at the participant’s own risk. Participants indemnify the Promoter against any claim for accident or loss of life, personal injury, property damage or other loss, cost or expense arising in connection with the Competition or any prize.
35) These terms and conditions are subject to all applicable laws, codes and regulations, including but not limited to the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and the Code for Advertising and Promotion of Alcohol.
36) The Promoter adheres to all applicable privacy laws and regulations. Participants to the Competition agree that the Promoter (and its agents and contractors) may collect and retain their personal information in order to conduct the Competition and for future promotions carried out by the Promoter and its associated companies. Participants have the right to request access to their personal information held by or on behalf of the Promoter, and to update or to remove any such information. All such requests should be directed to the Promoter in writing at the address set out above.
